2025 Top 50

My personal top 50 songs of 2025 from 50 all the way to one. No need to hit that shuffle button because I overthought the hell out of the order.
Did I up my yearly list from 25 to 50 so I could include the entire new Hot Milk album? YUP! I haven't been this enamored with a band or a single album since "21st Century Breakdown" (Green Day) in 2009 and then "A Thousand Suns" (Linkin Park) the following year. There's two interludes included that bring the track list up to 52. These interludes transition beautifully in and out of two songs on "Corporation P.O.P" and I could not split them up. Hot Milk's lyricism is soulful and personal, and that mixture of punk rock, metal, dance music and more on this record is nothing but explosive emotional energy that you will feel.
Other notable records I liked this year that I can't say as much about because of character limits but you should still go listen to the whole record.
"Even In Arcadia" by Sleep Token: I jumped on this bandwagon this year when a friend sent me the first single from this album. Emergence is a masterpiece, like I mention with HM above the different styles of music and lyrics are just intoxicating.
"Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party" by Hayley Williams: The amount of tears that have come out of my dumb face relating to the lyrics about mental health and other personal struggles have made this record something that I will always cherish.
"Breach" by Twenty One Pilots: The final installment of the DEMA story left nobody disappointed. These songs again focus on mental health and navigating life with a brain that not very kind to you. TøP did TøP things and once again has another record with two sides of memorable and catchy songs."My Apologies To The Chef" by Winona Fighter: I caught these guys live this summer and they had me immediately. The energy from the lead singer and the pop punk sound remind me of the days I discovered Sum 41 and The Offspring.
More than honorable mentions,
Lydia Night's new record "Parody Of Pleasure" is very fun. It gives me early 2000's Pop vibes, but it has so much more substance to it.
South Arcade released "2005" last year which means I missed it for this list (I really liked it) but the single "Supermodels" is an absolute bop. Hot Milk brought this group on tour with them earlier this year. It was a great show.
There are many other incredible songs and great artists on this 2025 playlist, and I hope you enjoy listening! -T
2024 Top 24

Ok, so. I overthought the order of this a lot so if you shuffle this shit ill be personally offended. I even made custom art man! I’m not always designing racing shit. I have other ways to lose time!!
Ranked in reverse order from 24 to 1 my favorite tracks from 2024 based off play count, ADHD fixation, and lyrical vibes. This is 100% a personal playlist. Lots of artiest repeats. I’m not trying to be a douchy specticald YouTube reviewer here. That initial feeling or “ah ha” moment with a song is important to me.
Play count will probably vary from song to song based on release date. This list is as of November 14th 2024. I also listen to a lot of vinyl (I know so interesting) so that also impacts play count.
Oh yeah, also I did a deep dive on The Offspring this year, never touched their pre 2009 stuff. It’s great. I think it’s what kept me alive for two weeks alone at work in July. Anyways they had little intros and intermissions and I thought they were clever one day at work and I hope you appreciate it. Kthx
24 - WAKE UP-SIT DOWN-SHUT UP - 151 plays - Needs to be intro to Nascar Thunder Game, song required at full volume.
23 - All in My Head - 107 plays - Not one Linda’s but Two! Srsly tho this band is gonna be huge (just look up who they’ve opened for)
22 - Green - 25 plays - Love the sound, the lyrics tell a story
21 - Navigating - 112 plays - Twenty One Pilots songs typically relate to mental health stuff but put to a fun beat!
20 - RATATATA - 231 plays - Single handedly ruined my Air Pod Pros
19 - LOVE U ANYWAY - 151 plays - This song just sounds pretty it also has a beatiful anxiousness to it.
18 - The Craving (single version) - 120 plays - I’m a white girl ok? I can’t not love a Uke. Love songs from this band will always hit me right in the feels.
17 - Dopamine - 116 plays - This is just one of those classic ear worm Sum41 songs. Simple but an ear worm I just can’t get out of my head. (not an RKF Jr brain worm tho)
16 - Midwest Indigo - 111 plays - Lyrics are fun this isn’t one I’ve thought much about lyrically. I just love how it sounds.
15 - Where Does The Light Get In? - 106 plays - Classic BIG Hot Milk song. Literally I don’t think they ever miss.
14 - Strange Days Are Here to Stay - 192 plays - Classic Green Day, commentary galore.
13 - Living in the ‘20s - 217 plays - Commentary galore & sarcasticly crude. I think the previous song is actually meant to lead into this one a bit. Guns are bad.
12 - USA Today - 64 plays - Friend reccomended this band. I’m hooked. They’re Icelandic Musical Gods. Idk I just think that’s cool. More commentary.(Ban Assault Wepons section over) Check out “Break My Baby” and Hey Gringo by Kaleo as well!
11 - Over Each Other - 54 plays - EMILY IS GREAT AND CHESTER WOULD BE HAPPY TO SEE MIKE HAPPY. Anywho this song is great. Hits in the feels.
10 - Next Semester - 208 plays - Man. This song. Can you die of anxiousness?
9 - Two Faced - 7 plays - It literally came out the week of writing this, but man. I know, but hear me out. Literally. Just listen to it. Go on I’ll wait.
8 - 1981 - 232 plays - Billie wrote this about his mom I think? lot of 80s references, really fun song, Green Day just doing Green Day things. Also Mikes Bass in this song is *cheffs kiss
7 - Get Some - 71 plays - Social Media is poisioning our brains yet we cant live without it now. Also, catchy song. I bet it would be incredible live.
6 - Heavy Is the Crown - 170 plays - When Linkin Park hits it they hit it. Classic rapping verses and singer on the chorus. Mike and Emily sound great.
5 - NOSE BLEED - 115 plays - Stand Atlantic IMO is making some of the best pop punk right now. This song just hits. It flows and it’s so catchy. One of their better features as well. These Australian rockers need to get on the right continent so I can see them live again
4 - Routines In The Night - 125 plays - Immediately when I heard this song I knew what it was about. So many long nights. This one hit close
3 - Bobby Sox - 208 plays - Just a fantastic Love song from Green Day. This song is a conversation between a couple. “Doesn’t matter when we’re in love.” Song also has a “love is love” theme which is great.
2 - The Emptiness Machine - 462 plays - By far my most listened to song of the year. I had this on repeat for about 2 weeks. What a comeback single. The debut of their new vocalist Emily with this song was brilliant. Great lyrics, great sound and oh, That first “let me cut you open” with the isolated vocals 🔥
1 - Fancy Sauce - 172 plays - This is gonna end up as Green Day deep cut but don’t sleep on it, this song is a gem. It’s a top ten all time Green Day song imo. Mental Health among many other themes. “We all die young someday” we all die still wishing we’d done more with life. Also there’s a Nirvana reference so that pretty dope. When this album dropped I January I gravitated to this song instantly. It’s also the closing track on ‘Saviors’ which gives it the perfect vibe to finish this 2024 playlist.
In closing I hope you enjoyed the listen. I’m just mentally ill and I like music 😂🖤
